Amendments to UK Corporate Governance Code

Gender diversity on boards

Two changes to the UK Corporate Governance Code which come into effect for financial years beginning on or after 1 October. These require listed companies to:

  • Report annually on their boardroom diversity policy, including gender, and on any measurable objectives set for implementing the policy and on the progress made in achieving those objectives; and
  • Consider diversity of the board, including gender, when evaluating board effectiveness.
