Health and Safety Notices

It is the start of a new year so an ideal opportunity to make sure all your health and safety notices are displayed and current. It is advised to have a dedicated noticeboard (or patch of wall) for health and safety notices so staff know where to look and also so it is easy for employer’s to update them.


Employers must display the HSE statutory law poster which is available from HSE books.


Employers must also display the current Employers’ Liability certificate for their staff. This does not impact on third parties and only covers employers, so it should be displayed in a staff area.


Other important notices that should be displayed for staff are fire evacuation instructions (ideally with a visual plan), first aider details/arrangements and details of any employee safety reps or support forums.
